Max's Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch...

Today Max had his first of many field trips of his kindergarten year. Now that he is in a life skills class, we are learning that he will take a number of field trips this year...as in three Fridays in a row this month just to start! As you can see, he was a little excited today...
Max loved the bus ride over and then got tickled when he saw Daniel, Zoe, and I waiting for him at the pumpkin patch :).

This was a second grade field trip that Max's class tagged along with, so we started out in their "classroom barn" to learn all about pumpkins and their life cycle before heading out for the fun. I just love this picture...
one of the reasons I was thrilled about this new school for Max was that there are other kids in wheelchairs there. He may not recognize it, but as a mom I love for him to be exposed to other kids who look similar to him. I will also say, this was our first outing with a life skills class and it was definitely a new experience for our family! We are used to being isolated where only Max has a disability :)...
After the lesson, we took a little train ride around the fields which Max thought was way too much fun...
This picture below captures perfectly what it's like to hold Max most days. Daniel and I refer to holding Max more as a wrestling match.
After the quick trip, we headed to the duck races!
Oh friends, God has blessed us again with his teacher...she is a doll! She is so relaxed and laid back with the kids (which says a lot because her class is high needs this year). She is so friendly spending time visiting with me daily. She is encouraging...I think I could gush all night ;).
It was so much fun to have Zoe there with us, she was tickled to spend the day with Maxey too...
We unfortunately didn't stay the entire time because it started down pouring, so we headed out around lunch. At least we enjoyed the morning with these pumpkin cuties!
