Kindergarten Celebration!

I think I might be in denial because we now have a first grader in our home...eeek! The boys wrapped up their last day of school on Friday...
and Daniel surprised Kason by letting him ride his bike to finish out the year. I think honestly, little lady might be the most excited of us all to have her boys back home for the summer!
A week before school was officially out, Kason had his Kinder Celebration at school. Giddens doesn't do an actual graduation, the kindergartners put on a program...
with refreshments to follow. I wasn't sure what to expect out of the program due to our past on stage performances of deer in headlights shy guy or the every now and then crying. This year, Kason surpassed all the various stages and went straight to "I'm too cool for this"! Oh yes friends, this guy was a complete goofball the entire time throwing out different faces...
I'm talking rolling of the eyes, a few guns up salutes, even an "eyes on you" hand motion...hahaha...it was hilarious! Thankfully he did sing on occasion and do a few hand motions, so I know he wasn't completely zoned out :)...
The program was about colors, so the teachers displayed their artwork near the refreshments table...
The kids received a special treat from Mrs. Chapman...
along with their official Kindergarten certificate...
A super special surprise for Kason was grandparents came to cheer him on!
Kason was so proud and excited to have a little fan section in the crowd :). Another special gift Kason received from his teacher was photo album from the year...
She took pictures of them throughout the year doing activities as well as when they met major goals!
Kason was beaming to show us his pictures and has already looked at it several times. My favorite picture was the last one where they got to tell her what they want to be when they grow up...
melt my heart! He keeps telling me he wants to be just like daddy :). Side note: Kason has asked to grow out his hair, so please dismiss the cotton top mop! This crazy Clayton crew is planning on enjoying a relaxing, yet playful summer...
then bring on first grade, another year of ELE, and Mother's day out next fall!

  1. Absolutely love that family picture. Also, had no idea Kason wanted to be a preacher just like Daniel - so sweet!
