Sunshine Getaway...

A week ago, Mimi and Doc (my parents) treated the grands to a relaxing getaway at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. It was a fabulous location for families and we all had an enjoyable time soaking up the sun together! We started off our vacation by meeting up at the Hula Hut in Austin...
to celebrate Mimi's birthday...
before we took off. Once we got to the resort (after several squeals of delight from thrilled cousins) we ended up spending most of our time hanging out in the water...
The resort has a large pool that flows into a lazy river that was relaxing to float around...
and there was even a sandy beach for the kids to play in...
You know Max and his texture issues, so he wasn't haven't anything to do with the sand! So he enjoyed some extra lovin' instead :)...
but, he couldn't pass up splashing around...
Mimi and Doc even rented a cabana one day which was seriously amazing...
our group was able to drop in and out to catch a few moments out of the sun, eat, or let the kids relax. With the cabana also on the golf course, I was lucky to catch the guys during their round of golf...
Our rooms opened up to a nice open field for the kids to play around in the evening. We either ate by the pool, or on our patio while enjoying the giggles from all the cousins...
The resort also had a "Flow Rider" that both Daniel and Kason tried out...
They both had a great time trying to boogie board against the waves and rushing water...
Of course all us bystanders had fun watching the wipe outs :)...
By night time all the excitement from the day had exhausted the littles...
but Aunt Shaye couldn't miss out on the nightly s'more roasting each evening!
After we got our chocolate fix and baths, the cousins all had fun snuggling and giggling a bit more together...
It was precious to see Kason and Sadie spend the night together. It was Sadie's first time in a big bed and she didn't do too bad with her big cousin around :). One day we did venture away from the resort and headed over to Sea World...
where Kason rode his very first BIG rollercoaster!!! That's right, this little 5 year old adrenaline junky is already craving a need for speed...
even though he admitted the first drop was a little scary, he had a blast and is already looking forward to another rematch! All the kids had fun watching a few shows...
and checking out all of the animal exhibits...
Like every day together, we wore these little munchkins out!
The Clayton Cuties can't thank Mimi and Doc enough for splurging on a family sunshine getaway where we got to spend quality time with each other.
I must confess that we are already going through Sadie and Sophie withdrawls and counting down the days until we can meet up again...thankfully it's only a few more weeks until Camp Mimi and Doc: where cousins go to become best friends!
