Rockin' in the USA...

The Clayton Crew absolutely LOVES holidays of any kind! We always start off the day with our family tradition of a holiday themed breakfast...
This year I did firecracker waffles in honor our our little 4th of July firecrackers...
After breakfast, we walked across the street for the Cedar Park parade. I'm telling you we luckily picked the best spot to live in...there is so much happening right here in our neighborhood! The kids were super excited about watching a parade...
It tickled me that our little Miss America...
took the parade waiving business very seriously :)...
Daniel and I think she needs her own float next year! It was hilarious to watch her wave to every float and say "hi" in that sweet little voice to everyone who went by...
That evening, we met up with our Young Professionals for an All-American dinner and then walked over to a park for the fireworks show. We sure didn't think we were going to make it the whole night because it was touch and go with Max at the beginning, but these little firecrackers hung on for a night of fun!
I say all the time that I simply adore Daniel's job...working with young adults. I feel so blessed for our kids to be around such an incredible group that just open their arms to our family and love on our kids!
Mr. Max did beyond amazing and pulled through his rough patches. In fact, he spent most of the evening crawling around the blanket, on top of everyone, and even invited himself into their laps :)...
I mean, who can really say no to this adorable face?!? I was kind of worried how Max would do once the fireworks started because Daniel and I still don't always know how he is going to react to certain situations. No worries were needed, because he soaked up the bright lights...
and all the attention he received. Thankfully the show was far enough away that they weren't too loud for him. Our little firecrackers lasted until 10:30 when we got home and had a blast doing it! Kason was amazed to actually be awake and outside after it was dark :)...oh the little joys of being 5. Another successful red, white, and blue in the books as our little patriots were rockin' in the USA!
