Picnic in the Park and Graduation...

Friday evening we gathered at church for one of my favorites, the kids' preschool program! I always love to see all the students dressed up, singing their little hearts out on stage...too cute :). The theme this year at Westover Preschool was a Picnic, so of course we had to see little ducks squawking and waddling around...
I was especially partial to the duck in the white shirt...
So, we all know Kason's past where he normally freezes on stage or cries, but not this program...he was all smiles and giggles up there! He even sang along, but I think his favorite part was being allowed to squawk like a duck...
Daniel said he couldn't decided which version of Kason he liked better, the shy introverted one from the past or the rambunctious one who kept getting in trouble for sword fighting with his diploma on stage :)...as for me, I'm just happy this little guy is finally starting to act like his normal self around others because he is most definitely a goof ball. The nursery is also a part of the program, so we got to see the most adorable little strawberry around...
While little lady normally LOVES all the attention of being on stage, I think she was a bit overwhelmed during the program. She kept turning around scowling at the group because they were singing (I think she may have been mad they were steeling her spotlight...hehehe)!
Of course the program wasn't all that was in store for this special night, we also had a little graduate on our hands. That's right friends, Mr. Kason Maddux Clayton graduated from preschool!!!
Daniel and I are so proud of this kid...he is seriously "awesome sauce" as we say around here. Kason was excited to share with everyone on stage that he is going to kindergarten and will be a construction worker when he grows up...
and if you know him at all...that is spot on! He always has a tool in his hands and is always on a mission to "fix" something :). I can honestly say that while there are days I just want to freeze him in the adorable stage of life he is in, I really can hardly wait to see the man he grows up to be. Although, I'm not sure I am ready for these two rascals to grow up together...
I can already see many schemes these guys will rummage up together being minister's kids and all! On a serious note, I couldn't be more thankful for Aidan. He and Kason hit it off right from the start and I just know their friendship will continue to grow with them. I also have to say a special thank you to Kason's phenominal teachers: he started with the amazing Ms. Kay (in Lubbock) and ended with the incredible Ms. Tamara and Ms. Lara-Leigh (they have been so good to him and helped smooth the transition). Well, this is crazy to say, but I would like to introduce you to the...
Class of 2027!
