Insane Asylum...

Some days I wonder if I am getting close to being committed...then I start to think...wait a minute, maybe I currently live in an insane asylum? While most of the time I am in control and put together, there are situations that occasionally slip into my days where I could possibly pull my hair out and I probably look like a crazy myself. One thing you should know though, that no matter how insane my day is...I wouldn't have it any other way! This little man captures my heart...
I adore how obsessed he is with sports. He will crack me up because out of no where he will start sprinting around the house throwing a ball or yelling "Go Red Raiders"..."Lets shoot some hoops mom"..."See my basketball mom?"..."Watch this"! What else do I love about him? No more diapers....Kason is finally potty trained!!! Daniel and I haven't pushed potty training too hard due to Maxers being in and out of the hospital, but we did teach him how to potty this summer. We have had a few failed attempts over a couple of slightly more hard core potty training weekends, but he wasn't really ready to do it. That is until it became his idea this past hospital visit with Max...Kason just woke up one morning and decided he only wanted underwear! We were so proud of him, so when we brought Max home he opened up a bribe gift Daniel and I bought him awhile ago (I know...parent fail with bribing)...
but he was so pumped about a basketball goal! He is adamant that it must stay in the kitchen, which is convenient for me during cooking time...it keeps him occupied. The only thing I can't figure out is why he and Daniel are allowed to shoot from far distances, but when he passes the ball to me he makes me scoot waaaaay up close to the goal. It is hilarious! I'm just wondering now if boys are born discriminating against girls' athletics...I'm thinking so! Another reason I'm lovin' this little man is the way he loves his little brother...
It is evident everyday how much his heart explodes for Mr. Max. He is constantly in his face kissing him, playing with him, and talking to him. Last weekend when my sister came to town Kason had to sleep on the bed in Max's room and he hasn't left it since! He had so much fun having a sleep over with Max that he didn't want to end and bunked with him all week...too sweet! I could go on and on about what makes my little man precious, but I'll wrap it up by saying that I can't get enough playtime with Kason...
he has such a fun personality and is so enjoyable to spend time with. He has high energy and can hardly stand or sit still, but boy does he have a fun imagination! I love how you can spend tons of money on toys for him that he will play with off and on, but give him something free and simple like the clear bags from our dry cleaners...he plays for an hour! (And yes friends, those are band aids all over him...another post coming with explanation.) As you can see, our days are filled with rambunctious energy that about wipes me out by the end of the day...of course when you add in his hitting, loud noises, occasional temper tantrum...it is no wonder I get confused with all this craziness!
