The Clayton Crew kicked off summer by heading to the beach with our good family friends, The Mullens! We rented a condo on Mustang Island near Corpus Christi. We picked up Max early from school, let him ditch his last day, and were ready for some beach action...
The Mullens have three kids the same ages as ours: Aidan, Ryla, and Noah...
these beach bums are life long friends in the making!
I wasn't sure how Max would handle the beach, so we set up a big canopy and beach mat so he would be set for the day.
Turns out, he LOVES the beach and just wanted to hang on the sand with the waves rolling in!!
The guys had a blast fishing even though they only caught a few throw back types.
The ladies had too much fun playing in the sand...
that is until they were both stung by a jelly fish.
Poor things! We all had so, so much fun spending the entire day at the beach together.
We decided to make this an annual trip because we just love them so much :)! Daniel and Cliff work together and before we moved south, Laura Beth and I did a lot together with the kids. So it was great to get back together for a few days.
Daniel was having so much fun that when the Mullens left, he wasn't ready to head back...ha! We ended up driving over to Port Aransas to piddle around...

before snagging a room in Corpus Christi for the night.
The guys spent the evening fishing while Zoe, Max, and I swam at the hotel pool and enjoyed the views. The trip was relaxing and loads of fun...a great way to kick off summer!
