Celebrating our Joy and Hope in Christ...

I love Easter...and not just because I have the cutest bunnies around :)!
I love being able to retell the story of Christ, celebrating an empty tomb, and rejoicing in the hope of Christ with my family and faith community. Daniel and I have recently began a new adventure that I look forward to sharing with you in the future, but today's post will be a bit of a teaser. Today we spent the day seeing God's love here on Earth, loving among diversity, sharing in joy with a variety of God's children from all walks of life. We began with a sunrise service at 6:45 am...
The kids were amazed that I woke them up in during the night (5:30 am...eeek!) and we drove to Westover South to begin our worship in the dark.
After worship, we shared breakfast together...
before setting up for the afternoon. The building is used by Westover South and by Travis Heights Christian Outreach...so Westover South helped throw a carnival for Travis Heights and the neighborhood. Men from Travis Heights smoked hot dogs and burgers...
while Westover South brought sides, drinks, and desserts for everyone.
We also set up bounce houses for the kids to play in...
 had snow cones and popcorn...
face painting, egg dying, confetti eggs, a cake walk...
and of course, the main event...the egg hunt!
We had all the kids hang out indoors, while the adults hid the massive amount of eggs in the field before letting them loose!
Zoe and Kason just had the BEST day with their new friends!
Max had an awesome morning, but began to get cranky as the day went on...so don't let this smile fool you, ha!
I ended up spending the entire carnival hanging out with Mr. Max on a mat before we did end up leaving a little early. But, I was so blessed to spend my day getting to know new friends and sharing in the beauty of Christ's diversity.
This Clayton Crew wishes everyone a Happy Easter and our prayer is for you to find hope this next year in Christ!
