Happy Campers...

A couple weekends ago, the boys had a Monday off for Fall Break...so, Daniel and I decided the great outdoors were calling our names! This Clayton Crew are happy campers anytime we get to go on an adventure together!

We went camping as a family a little over a year ago and let's just say Max didn't totally love it like the rest of us. This time around we were more prepared for him and he thought it was the best thing ever! We even had cool, fall weather which was a bonus!
We went camping at Cedar Breaks which is on Lake Georgetown. Our spot had a gorgeous view overlooking the lake. We set up camp on Sunday afternoon, then just hung out relaxing while the kids played. The hammock was a big hit!
After dinner, the kids had fun looking at the stars...
while Daniel made his campfire cobbler!
One of my favorite moments was when the boys told ghost stories around the fire.
In fact, I think Max may have had the most fun this camping trip. He absolutely loved the campfire and we could hardly pull him away to go to sleep. I love the picture below because this is real life for us...
tube feeding Max by the fire :). Daniel and I might have been kicked, punched, woke up an insane amount of times, and our backs hurt from the hard ground....
but these happy campers had the BEST time sleeping in that tent! Especially Max since he decided to wake up about three times that night ready for a party. He would sit up, look around and see all of us together, smile real big, and then want to play...it was precious! He isn't a snuggler at sleep times, but he would not go to sleep each time without laying his head on top of my back or side and suck his thumb. Let me just say, that the lack of sleep was so worth it! The next morning we walked around and went fishing...
before packing up and heading back home. These are the days friends...happy campers enjoying the call of the wild!
