Princess Zoe's Royal {pretend} Sleepover...

Our sweet little lady is turning 4 in just a couple of weeks...can you believe it?!? It is incredibly hard to believe that our baby is growing into the most precious little girl. She is a firecracker and lives up to her name daily bringing so much life into our home. After having the boys, Zoe has introduced our family to a new world full of glamour, sparkles, twirls, princesses, and all the joys of raising a little girl. Right now she adores all things princess, so I knew immediately what her birthday theme would be. Together, we have been planning for months, picking up things as we go getting ready for her royal night. While Zoe loves costumes she doesn't enjoy how "itchy" they are, so you will most likely find her wearing her princess pajamas all day long. Therefore, I had an idea to throw a {pretend} sleepover since all the royal attendants are a little young to stay the night...plus, how can you have a princess party without watching a princess movie?!? I went shopping and found the perfect pajamas to surprise our princess for her big night...
Belle! She has become her most recent favorite princess, plus the yellow looks gorgeous with her complexion. If you have been following my blog, then you know for about a year now Zoe has been trying her hand at makeup and hair styling. So we decided right away that we would need a sparkle station!
Every princess looks glamorous and we wanted to make sure all the royal princesses fit the part.
Each girl had a glitter bucket to fill up and take home. The box already contained princess kleenex and glitter body spray...
The little ladies were then able to pick out their very own nail polish, jewelry, lip gloss, hair tie, and tiara...
Since us mommas all grew up watching Disney Princesses too, I thought it would be fun to add little signs around the tables with phrases from the movies...
I must confess that in all my party planning I usually cringe when it comes to plastic table cloths. This time since we were doing a character theme, I decided to go all out and just have fun. My goal was to make this a little girl's dream party, so when they walked into the door it was like entering a whole new world :).
Zoe's favorite drink right now is pink lemonlade (how she pronounces it), so that was a must to serve. We also decided since it was a slumber party, that we would serve pizza and popcorn!
Just in case someone wanted a healthier option, I made bippity boppity boo pumpkins :)...
One of Zoe's only request during our entire party planning was a castle cake. Oh friends, she was so sold on that idea and there was no talking her out of it. I'm still in the beginning stages of learning how to decorate cakes, so this task was a bit overwhelming for me since I'm teaching myself. I wouldn't say I pulled it off amazingly, but there was some resemblance to a castle, haha!
All that matters is Zoe was happy and loved her castle!
Since Frozen also falls under Zoe's love of princess movies, I made sure I added touches of Elsa and Anna throughout the party too...
While the boys were out playing that day and I was finishing up making preparations for the party, Nana and Mimi took little lady on a special date...
to Build a Bear! This stuffed animal loving girl absolutely loved it (blog to come!). She picked out an Elsa bear with outfit and all, along with a Belle costume to match hers...
If you notice closely, they both have their tiaras and princess heels on too! Before I get into sharing how the party played out, I just have to share how much fun this night turned out! I dreamed of this evening being magical for my little girl and somehow, I believe it happened. This sweet princess was so excited all her friends were coming over that she could hardly wait to greet them at the door and welcome them inside...
Zoe and I immediately directed them to the sparkle station to get even more gorgeous! A big thanks to the most incredible fairy godmothers...
who sweetly glittered up each princess, while the moms painted their nails...
It turned out to be such a fun mother/daughter activity! While the girls were finishing up their makeovers, someone knocked on the door...
The special secret surprise I've been withholding from Zoe...her favorite princess, Cinderella came to visit!!!
Cinderella was absolutely AMAZING! From the moment Zoe opened the door, Cinderella was in character and never broke it once...for the entire 30 minutes she was there. She had the little princesses help her share her story by filling in the missing pieces...
before giving lessons on how to be a princess! She taught them how to curtsey...
wave like a princess, clap properly...
and even giggle the right way :).
I think all the mommas were as enthralled with Cinderella as their little ladies were! When Cinderella started singing, I think all of our faces broke out into an even larger grin (which I didn't think was possible)!
While she sang hypnotically, she blew bubbles for all the girls to twirl around and catch. She said the bubbles were from her friend Ariel...
Cinderella then had a meet and greet with each princess individually...
making sure everyone had their special time and picture taken. Cinderella had already crowned the birthday girl earlier, but now was her time to shine while everyone sang her Happy Birthday before blowing out her candle...
When it was time for Cinderella to head back to her castle before her carriage turned into a pumpkin, the girls were sad to see her go...
as in they followed her every move and couldn't stop their waves goodbye or kisses...
I'm fairly certain every girl at the party followed her all the way to her car! Cinderella was definitely the special touch to little ladies' royal affair! After all the girly fun, we moved on to scrumptious food...
before the slumber party movie! Zoe's other favorite princess is Rapunzel, so we asked all her friends to bring their pillows and blankets...
to watch Tangled together and munch on popcorn...
while the mommas got time to visit!
The party crowd ended up being these good friends above that we go to church with, all who have little ladies around Zoe's age...as well as her friends from pre-school that she adores. It was a good mix and I was just thrilled that all her friends were able to come celebrate with her. A few days after Zoe's party, she received a special delivery...
I'm telling you, this Cinderella rocked! Oh friends, what a magical night my little lady was able to have celebrating her 4th birthday with her friends and family.
This may have been one of my favorite parties ever...to attend or plan. What a joy to watch my girl thrive in the spotlight and to spend a night living her dreams as a princess!
