Kason's week before Christmas was by far the busiest. His teacher goes all out for the month of December creating an exciting few weeks building to the big day. They start off the month by taking the kids to a Christmas tree farm on a field trip for them to pick out a tree for the classroom, they decorate the tree, do crafts all month, string lights across the ceiling, decorate gingerbread houses, practice for a program, and have a party...yep, a little kid's month long slice of holiday heaven :). His schedule that week was where I needed the most help because his school is 30 minutes from our house and they don't allow siblings at school day events which makes it hard when you are the room mom with a couple extra littles hanging around. The grandma's were phenomenal, even making one event that I couldn't get to since I was at Max's therapy...yes, they were lifesavers...and I love them for it! Now, let's get down to business with pictures galore :). Wednesday, we met Kason for lunch...
which I was super excited about because I haven't had a chance to eat with him yet. After that, the three of us helped Mrs. Burcham in the classroom by assembling gingerbread houses with each kid so they could decorate them the next day (Thursday). Kason LOVED having his Nana and Mimi there to help out...
Thursday evening Kason had his school Christmas program which was absolutely wonderful. Each elementary grade performed two songs as well as congregational singing, scripture reading, and acapella singing from the high school Encore group.

I was beyond proud of our little man!!! Last program he acted like a goofball, but this time he smiled, sang, did hand motions, and just all around rocked being a cutie pie up there.
I mean seriously...is he not adorable?!?
Yep, he is awesome sauce for sure :). Kason also had his own personal fan section on his big night...
Each of them smiling and waving when they saw him :).
Proud momma moment! Since daddy couldn't be there, we bombarded his phone with pictures and videos so he could participate through the distance. On Friday, we had Kason's class Christmas party which I hosted since I'm the homeroom mom. I threw out a few options for his teacher, but she was the most interested in a Santa's workshop theme...so I kept the same color scheme and direction as the Donuts with Santa for the neighborhood (simplifying my life).
I decided to do four stations to keep the kids busy and active. I also recruited a couple of other mommas to help with the stations. We had the Elf Toy Factory where the kids made a craft ornament...
There was also a station where a parent read several Christmas stories at...
One of the kids' favorite stations was outside at the Reindeer Games...
I took care of the Santa's Cookies and Milk station...
I baked sugar cookies for the kids to decorate all on their own, Nana made the snowmen (chocolate dipped oreos), and Mimi made the reindeer cookies!
Seriously adorable, scrumptious, and oh so fun!
I also had a bucket full of reindeer food for the kids to take home for Christmas Eve...
For the gift exchange, Mrs. Burcham had each kid bring a notepad and pen to gift a friend during a Night Before Christmas exchange...
They separated the boys and girls so they could pick out a gender specific gift.
I'm not sure if you can tell that these kids had a good time or not...
Weeks like these make me hug Daniel up and send up a prayer of thanks to God that I have the privilege of being a stay at home mom.
It is a blessing and a joy to spend my days taking are of our children and participating in school actives with them. I am holding fast to the memories we are making and soaking up this incredible life with my loves.
