A Boo-tiful Day...

Since Halloween fell on a Saturday this year, it provided this Boo Crew a day full of family fun together! We started our morning off by joining our friends at church for a little Nerf Wars!
This year's theme was Disney Villains...
Kason and Daniel had a blast taking down the other team, while Zoe, Max, and I just hung out with the few other moms who were there. Zoe was a little intimidated by the dark gym with strobe lights, fog machines, and flying bullets, so her and Max did a little target practice in their safe zone :)...
The children's ministers and admin rocked the food for lunch! It was so fun having themed food (at least for this party loving momma)...
but the hit of the party was definitely the drinks...
the kids are still filling these up with water and drinking from them. After the nerf wars, we headed home to do a little pumpkin carving...
I ended up doing most of the grunt work getting it ready, but these two littles were all too excited to help with the face carving...
Kason ended up doing most of the carving because it was a little hard for Zoe. I think these two little ghosts did a fangtastic job!
We of course had to fuel up before hitting the streets, so Kason and Zoe made Jack-o-Lantern pizzas!
This year, the Boo Crew decided to go as forest critters! Kason's favorite animal right now is a squirrel, so he insisted that is what he wanted to be for Trick or Treating. Therefore, we jumped off that theme for Max to be a skunk (which if you know the stink bombs this fella drops, it totally fits him...haha!) and Zoe went as a bunny (which fits this spunky, hopping little lady!).
I'm sad I didn't get any close up face pictures of the kids since this was their first year with face paint. We originally were going to make Kason a mask, but at the last minute he decided he was really into this face painting thing, so dad chipmunked him up :).  Since we had too much fun last year, we made plans again with our favorite neighbors: Christy, Aaron, and Tanner...
to walk around the neighborhood together. Halloween is the one day out of the year that this neighborhood comes alive...
so Daniel and I love, LOVE walking around and meeting new faces. While the kids of course love, LOVE filling up those goody bags of yummy candy!
Since Max really enjoys being outside, he always loves just strolling the streets with us...
He isn't super crazy about costumes, so there was no face painting or adorable ears on this little guy's head to finish off his costume...but I still think he looked precious. I think his favorite part of the night was hanging with his dad...
Our neighbors were amazing with Max...
several of them would come down from their front porches and sit closer to the sidewalk when they saw Max coming so he could join in the the Trick or Treat fun!
Once the dark ascended...
and bags were all filled to the brim, we headed back home to our front porch...
We let he kids stay up late and pass out candy to the older kids who started walking around. Honestly, I think passing out candy to other kids was Kason's favorite part of the night!
Well, another Halloween has come to a boo-tiful end for this family full of forest critters...
Now to figure out what in the world to do with all this scrumptious loot?!?
