On March 9th, our not so little man any more turned 6!!! This was probably by far my favorite birthday of his because he was spoiled rotten by having family with him all day which is rare...it was fabulous :). He woke up to birthday cake pancakes and a birthday breakfast with Nana and the gang...
He even got to open gifts from everyone before heading to school...how fun! The theme this year turned out to be shoes and swim lessons...
Shaye found these awesome bicycle shoes while we bought him another pair of his favorites...boots :). Nana, Pops, Aunt Michelle, and Thane were still there on Monday morning (from his party that weekend) and left after he went to school...
Kason had a special treat of Nana helping take him and Max to school. He loved showing off where he learns and I just love the sweetness of him holding Nana's hand walking the halls...
Then, surprise...surprise...Mimi and Doc showed up for a surprise birthday lunch with him at school!
He had no clue he was going to see all his grandparents on his big day and it just made him full of joy...his grandparents are his favorite! That afternoon before school was out, Doc and I brought his class a special treat per Kason's request: homemade caramel popcorn drizzled with chocolate...
He was sooooo excited to pass out his birthday treat to his friends...
and his teacher even let him choose the book to be read aloud that afternoon during snack...
A couple of days before his birthday, Kason kept going on and on about being so excited about his note, pencil, and birthday hat he was going to get at school on his birthday. He could hardly stand the wait to wear his hat ALL DAY! That evening we took him to Pluckers for his free birthday meal and he proudly wore his hat the whole time...hehehe!
I usually cook the birthday boy his favorite meal on his big day, so this was the first time we ate out and could let him experience the embarrassing singing happy birthday ritual with dessert...
As you can see, he was so sweet and innocent that he LOVED every minute. He flapped like a bird with that birthday hat on proudly while they sang to him...then he enjoyed fried oreos and ice cream. What a joy to celebrate one of our favorite fellas with family all day! Daniel and I could not be more proud of the young man Kason is growing up to be. He is kind hearted, an incredible helper, hard worker, and just all around fun! Looking forward to another year with our adrenaline junky, sports, legos, and farm loving boy!
