Let the Good Times Roll...

Yesterday evening, we took a trip to New Orleans to visit the French Quarter and to experience Mardi Gras! We passed out beads {in a kid friendly way of course :)} and made traditional masks...
We listened to Jazz music and learned about what Mardi Gras is...
Then when dad got home, we started creating our cajun dish...yum!
Dad spoiled us by making homemade fettuccine noodles and they were incredibly delish...
We ended up having the Baur girls join us for dinner...Mercy and Kason were so interested in watching Daniel, and so being the awesome dad he is, he let them help out. When it was time to cut, he carefully let them assist...
then Mercy and Kason helped unroll each noodle. I made a cajun fettuccine sauce and it was soooo good...
The kids weren't too crazy about the pasta which was no surprise since the sauce had bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, and chicken...
but when I made dessert...homemade beignets...it was a different story! At one point I looked over to see Grace licking the powder sugar off her plate :)...
We may have had a kid friendly Mardi Gras celebration, but definitely a fun one! We were even fortunate to have Glory, Grace, Max, and Zoe play musical instruments and have a parade. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

  2. The girls had so much fun at your house, and Mercy said you were a better cook than me! I might be dropping them off at your home more often for these festive events. :)
