Wedding Trip to Lubbock...

This past weekend, we loaded up and headed back to Lubbock for the first time since we moved. We were all excited to road trip and see our friends again! Trent and Sarah graciously hosted us and let's just say our little munchkins were in HEAVEN! Both Zoe and Kason got to have sleepovers with Katy, Kelsey, and Kyle...
Friday before the wedding we had a little free time to go visit friends. Of course, we had to stop by the church to say hi to the old gang and to see the gym & classroom for Kason...
I'm so sad I didn't take any pictures while I was up there. We absolutely loved catching up with Jim and Jett! We had lunch with Rob and Daniel snuck away to see Derek at the bike shop. That evening, the clan got spiffed up...
and headed to the wedding of Rick and Shelby.
Daniel and I have known both of these sweet friends since they were in junior high and we were doing youth ministry. So, we were honored that Daniel was asked to perform the wedding and Kason was asked to be the ring bearer.
Here is the problem though, Kason doesn't mind large crowds except for when he has to stand on stage and have everyone stare at him...oops...makes this ring bearer job a bit more difficult!
Therefore, Daniel and I hopped him up on sugar (thanks skittles!) and he ended up being in the best mood...so much so that this is the face he gave me right before he walked down the aisle...
classic Kason move...love this guy! He did so good...
so much so that he practically sprinted down the aisle to go stand by dad :)...
Can I just say I get teary eyed at each of these weddings Daniel performs? He has done several for our college students and each one gets me...every time. You grow to love these people beyond a simple friendship and start to see them as family! So, we couldn't have been more excited to share in their big day and maybe even party a little with them at the reception :)...
Yep, that is pretty much what little lady did ALL.NIGHT.LONG! She couldn't stop dancing, it was hilarious and complete awesomeness.
Not only did she just love the attention, but she absolutely loved the beat :).
At one point she even pulled dad out on the dance floor...
but for most of the night, she was content to jam out on her own. She even busted up the bridal party and made her presence known as she did the Cupid shuffle and danced on beat! Mr. Max also had a great time...
The reception was a blast to catch up with dear friends we haven't seen in a while...
but have no fear, Max busted a groove too!
That's right...this momma has been teaching them skills at home :). Kason was amped up (thanks skittles!) and break danced on the floor as well as played the air guitar...so wishing I had a picture right about now for blackmail during teenage years. Coming back to Lubbock for a visit was such a treat!
It felt like returning home after your first time away for college...a sense of peace and love being surrounded with friends who are now family. We already look forward to returning again in June to celebrate another young couple we love so much...Brock and Kaylie...we can hardly wait!
