Adventures in Austin: Part Two...

Well, the Clayton Crew has landed in Austin for an entire month now. We are pretty settled and so far have a good routine for day in and day out. I think the biggest adjustment has been travel times and traffic. In Lubbock you could pretty much be anywhere within 5-10 minutes...which of course has changed to 20-30 minutes to get from place to place here. Daniel and I really love the community of Cedar Park and the kids especially love our neighborhood thanks to the park and pool practically being in our backyard and walking trails right by the house. Kason and Zoe have started the pre-school at church on T/TH and are enjoying meeting new friends. Daniel and I are especially having fun loading up the kids and exploring the Austin area on the weekends. We've ventured over to Gruene, TX to meet up with our Lubbock friends Derek & Jana, along with Uncle Kent who lives in San Marcos now at the infamous Gristmill...

Kason is just tickled to see rivers since he didn't see water much when we lived in Lubbock...
This past weekend while Nana and Pops were in town, we hit up a local favorite my sister Shaye has been telling me about, The Hula Hut!
While there was a long wait, it was definitely worth every minute...fun atmosphere and yummy food! We all hung out by the river...
waiting to be seated. Kason and Zoe were easily entertained by all the boats...
and the water sports that were happening in the water...
I personally have really enjoyed being able to sit outside while we eat, the weather has been beautiful here...
I'm thinking we will definitely have more visitors living in this area since more people travel here or near here...which is pretty exciting for us! One of my sweet friends, Joni and her two little ladies Addy & Elli hitched a ride with her hubs for a conference so we met in the middle in South Austin for us friends to catch up.
You may remember Addy, as she is my future daughter-in-law...hehehe! These two have been buddies since before the turned two and oh how they love each other. Every time they see each other, they pick up right where they left off like no time has passed...love it! We met up at another swanky local joint Hopdoddy's Burger Bar...
then headed over to Zilker Park for a little afternoon in the sun!
Thanks to our friends and family who have already met up with us to check out our new digs...keep it coming, we have loved seeing you! Now, I'm thinking we need to probably finish playing and finish up this house :).
