Star Spangled Sweeties...

For the holiday week of the 4th of July, we loaded up our little firecrackers and headed to Jellystone Park for an explosion of fun with Daniel's family! Nana and Pops have an RV and created a pretty sweet set up including an outdoor kitchen, canopies, TV, and picnic table so we could enjoy the great outdoors.
Since we have two babies and one of them having specific, special needs Nana and Pops rented us a cabin (you can see our cabin behind Kason in the picture above). I'm not going to lie, I was extremely nervous going into this week thinking about Max and being outside too much for him, no crib to sleep in, and of course sanity conditions. Well, all of that was put to rest immediately because the cabin was super clean, we set Max up in a swimming pool with a blanket, and Max LOVED the outdoors! So, to say we had a little fun would be a HUGE understatement...we had a blast! The first location of fun which Kason zeroed in on was the Pirate Cove Water Park...
We haven't taken Kason to a water park yet and it will now be on our summer to-do list every year! All of us had fun going down the water slides together including Nana...
the babies even got wet and splashed around in the baby pool for a little bit. I adore how much all kids love the outdoors, so we all enjoyed playing outside out of the pool...
Kason played frisbee, practiced casting his fishing rod, played at the park, did pedal carts around the lake, played laser tag with the guys, and even jumped around in an inflatable corral. Of course the babies soaked up some good lovin' in every one's laps...
and enjoyed a lot of one-on-one attention while being passed around...
We always eat incredible when we are with the Clayton side of the family as well as celebrating special birthdays like Nana's...
One morning we ventured to a big pool with all three kids and if you will look closely, you may notice something super exciting...
that is right, Max in the pool in a floaty all by himself!!! I slowly introduced him to water by easing him in and talking to him soothingly, then snuck him into the frog floaty...and he loved it! I was even able to pass him off to play with other family once he was completely comfortable and not nervous...at one point he laughed, splashed, and kicked his legs!
As for little lady...
well she still isn't quite sure what to think of a large pool, but she still had a good time flirting with everyone :). Jellystone has all sorts of activities for kids, so a must on Kason's list was to take a firetruck ride around the park...
along with a little playtime in the arcade...
There was a little ride that both Nana and Pops road on with Kason and he just giggled the whole time, even telling them they could only ride with their hands up!
On the 4th of July, we were all decked out in our red, white, and blue...
Kason even got in the patriotic spirit with tattoos, star sunglasses, and sidewalk drawn fireworks :). I just had to show off our little Miss America's fabulous outfit my Granny made (I found the pattern and fabric)...
Ahhh...I die from all the adorable cuteness! Of course the only way to end the sparkling night is to bite into scrumptious watermelon...
topped off with a little firework gazing...
Before we headed out, the guys took Kason out to the lake for a little male bonding and fishing. You won't believe it...on his first time fishing, he caught two!
He was a little bit proud :). We can't thank Nana and Pops enough for such an incredible week of adventure and fun that our little firecrackers had...
It was nice to get away, relax, play, and soak up sun not for just our star spangled sweeties, but for us big kids too!
