Special Treat...

Unfortunately, we have lost Max's nurse as she has went full time with another child. Therefore, we have been in some serious lock down around our house lately until another nurse is hired. Kason and I were super excited because we got a special treat of having Ms. Jan (Max's nurse) for just this week...which means a little play time outside the house today! This morning, we loaded up and headed to the mall for a little reading exploration...
When we usually go to Barnes and Noble, Kason heads for the picture books...but today, he ran towards the science section and picked a book about sharks! Alas the day has come where he is growing into be a little boy...the kind where he is fascinated with scary creators lurking in the sea, teetering on the edge with them being cool, but still scary at the same time.  It is fun to see him maturing and becoming interested in expanding his horizons beyond pictures books or the love of cars/trucks/tractors/sports. As for the little ladies...
they had fun strolling around checking out a few books for themselves :). Before we made it to our final destination, Kason couldn't resist being a fireman for a few seconds heading out to save a few lives...
The best part of our outing was meeting up with friends at the movies! A big thanks to Deanna, Emie, and Will for joining us to watch "Wreck it Ralph" today...
We had so much fun munching on popcorn with you guys!
We live an unusual life where we are "stuck" at home most of the time. To be honest, this is a struggle for me as a mom...it is a hard balance between keeping Max safe and protected from illness and allowing Kason to be a kid who gets to participate in normal activities for his age. I have a difficult time not being able to provide Kason with opportunities of play dates with friends. Therefore, when we have moments like these when we can sneak out and feel somewhat "normal"...I treasure these special treats and it makes my heart smile!

  1. Oh my goodness - I see another picture of Kason that looks just like you as a little girl! I am talking about the picture of him on the firetruck. I am starting to see the resemblance more & more the older he gets :)
