Little Lady's First Days of Life...

From the moment we found out about our favorite little lady, Miss Zoe, our journey with her has been a whirlwind. Therefore, over the next week I am going to post pictures from the start of her life beginning with our hospital stay. Once Daniel and I finished in the nursery, he went home to get Kason who could hardly contain himself because he wanted to meet his new baby sister really bad...
as you can see, he tried to scale the nursery wall to pinpoint her! The funny part was he got so excited because he saw oxygen tanks attached to the nursery crib beds and thought she was on oxygen just like his little buddy Max. Kason scurried to our room to await Zoe's return so he could officially see her and give her his present, her first baby doll...

When he finally met Zoe, he couldn't take his eyes off of her or wipe off his goofy grin...
he was instantly smitten! He sat down next to me to assist in finishing her feed, but was instantly confused. The poor guy kept asking where her feeding tube was. A few days before  Zoe's birth, Kason was playing with his baby doll by swaddling her...then decided she was hungry so he un-swaddled her and placed her bottle on her tummy then re-swaddled her! Seriously, how many 3 year olds do you know who can spot, label, and pretend play with medical equipment? Part of it makes me sad that little man has had to learn along with us in caring for Max, but on the other hand I love how compassionate he is because of our experience with Max. Have no fears, he has since learned that we take care of Zoe slightly different than his little buddy which makes her just as special too!
Another visitor that stopped by was actually a huge surprise...
Aunt Shaye flew in for the day! I loved being able to share little missy with both her aunts...
The more lovin' the better! Nana came in to town to help with the boys and meet her first granddaughter...

With the uncertainty of adoption, we only told our closest friends so we could ask for prayers for not only our family, but for Zoe's birth family. One of my close friends, Deanna dropped in...

along with our favorite NICU nurse, Lin, who happened to be working that day...
While hanging out at the hospital, I couldn't help myself by getting my hands on Zoe and accessorizing immediately!

You know, after having two boys my whole word has been opened to frills, big bows, and all kinds of tutu fun!
Of course the one we need to worry about getting his hands on her is big brother Kason...
I can't seem to get him to stop kissing her! I must confess though, that I love it...
While we had a fabulous experience during her first few days at the hospital, the real fun began when we took her home! More to come on getting Miss Zoe adjusted to our household craziness!

  1. I love seeing all of the pictures & re-living that wonderful day! I am so thankful that I got to be there the day she was born. I cannot wait for her & Sadie to grow up together :)
