Welcome Home Max...

After 6 months: aka, 26 weeks: aka, 182 days...our Mr. Max is finally home with us! The last 24 hours have been exciting, nerve racking, exhausting, and emotional all wrapped up in one bundle of joy. We hope you can share in our joy as we have brought Max home today...
Last night Daniel and I roomed in with Max at the NICU to make sure we were comfortable with all his equipment...which is quite a task in itself since he is on oxygen and two monitors! Within this last week we have been Infant CPR trained, car seat trained, monitor trained, medicine trained...I think you get the picture...I felt like I went back to school for a nursing degree! The last test that we needed was Max's car seat challenge...
which he rocked! Then after getting all cleaned up, we spent some time visiting our nurses and saying goodbye...
One of the most exciting parts of this morning was Kason meeting Max (which has only happened one other time when we took pictures...4 months ago). He had a slumber party with Aunt Michelle last night and she brought Kason up to the hospital while we were leaving. Aunt Michelle said he was screaming the whole way there so excited to meet Baby Max! He smiled at first...
but then eventually panicked. I think he didn't quite know what to think about not being able to go back and forth between me and Daniel without Max and all his cords being in the way. He finally calmed down and was on cloud nine during our car ride home.
Max wasn't quite sure what to think about everything. He kept looking around, then would finally get settled in, and before he knew it he had a little hand touching him and then giggling!
Kason couldn't stop beaming the whole way home...
he just couldn't help himself from holding Max's hand and saying his name over and over. When we got to the house, Aunt Michelle and Kason surprised Max with...
welcome home balloons! We can't thank Aunt Michelle enough for helping us out during the craziness this morning.
So now, the Clayton Crew officially makes four...
With one amazing older brother and one precious little brother...
Daniel and I couldn't feel more blessed or honored to raise these two miracle babies.

  1. Is this not the most precious family you've ever met? We are thanking the Lord for the blessing of Max coming home!! We do indeed have two precious angel babies (little miracles). I thank God everyday for blessing Louis and I the way He has and now with grandsons!! It's just too much!! The Clayton Crew is loved and adored by Nana and Pops!!
