Yesterday I was able to go meet my new peanut for the first time! Max is doing really well so far...in some ways he seems to be doing a little better than Kason did when he was first born. He is still on the ventilator, but they sound hopeful that he won't be on it for too much longer! He even started eating yesterday from a feeding tube and is now currently up to 5 cc's four times a day, which is equivalent to about a teaspoon a feeding. Max prefers laying on his tummy which reminds me so much of his big brother who preferred the same thing. I must say that already going through this once has helped Daniel and I as we become familiar yet again with the routines of NICU. We do feel really blessed because Max has amazing nurses who also worked with Kason, so we are confident he is in the best hands for his care!

Tonight when we went for a visit, the nurse actually let me touch his back which I immediately jumped at!!! (Sorry the picture is hard to see, we aren't allowed to use a flash because it is too stimulating for Max.) It will definitely be a lot longer before we can actually touch or hold him, but just to barely grace my hand upon him absolutely melted me. He is smaller than words can describe, but still seeing that adorable face one can't help but be at awe in the beauty of God's creation.
I'm so glad he's doing well and that you got to touch him!!
