This morning was blissful as I awoke toasty in my own bed while snow fell gracefully on the ground outside. That is right friends...I finally broke out of my 12 day hospital streak yesterday. The best part of coming home was being welcomed by Kason jumping and screaming at the door as I walked in! Unfortunately Kason developed RSV and wasn't allowed to be at the hospital, so I hadn't seen him in 6 days...so I was practically begging my doctor to let me go home to see my little man. I can't even explain how good it feels to be able to at least watch him play and give him hugs/kisses even though I have to spend most of the day resting from the surgery. Since both Daniel and I were with him today, we finally were able to give him his big brother surprise...a new baby boy doll for him to practice being a helper!
As you can tell, he loves it! He kept feeding the baby "milk" all day, even helped change his diaper with Mimi, and of course did what Kason does best...
share lovin' with his new baby! We still continue to show Kason a picture of Max and talk to him about his little brother...I can't wait to see how Kason responds to him when he finally joins us at home. Speaking of Max, people have said they wonder just how small the little peanut is, so I decided to share a sample of his tiny nature. In the picture below you will see a preemie diaper on the right (that is right, preemie...not newborn). Then on the left you will see the diaper Max wears...it is itty bitty!
Today when Daniel and I were visiting him the nurse let me help change his diaper and I must confess I was kind of a nervous wreck! His little legs look like you could snap them in two, so while I was so excited on the inside, I was worried I might break him on the outside. Thankfully the nurses remind me that he doesn't realize he is so small, he acts like he is a big boy already!
