Life Lately...

Life lately has been really great for this Clayton Crew. We have found our groove with the boys being in school full time which they are loving!
I'm not sure if you can tell by the most adorable smile on our Max! I feel like we have hit the jackpot for the second time with Maxer's teacher...we both just adore her. Everyday he is all smiles when I pick him up. Although, the longer days have made him a little more worn out...
Kason is also having a fun time falling back into a rhythm of school. 2nd grade is definitely a step up as far as challenge goes, but he is thrilled to be there. After the break of summer, he's working on getting into the swing again with writing complete sentences with correct punctuation, so I let him try his hand at texting for the first time...
It was absolutely adorable watching him diligently type out each word :).
Little lady's favorite part of the day is when her brothers' finally get home because she sure does miss them! Thankfully her preschool starts tomorrow since she is feeling a little left out.
If you are a Clayton groupie, then you may know that we decided to sell our home in Cedar Park and move into Austin. We have rented a house in the neighborhood Brentwood Christian is in...so we are only 5 minutes from each boys' school and 10 minutes from church. Zoe has been my moving buddy since we are taking our time with the transition...just a load or two a day. Friday morning Zoe and I hit up a playground by our new home and even took a walk...
Let's just say we are definitely not regretting this move and LOVE our new location! Our life has simplified this last week and it is fabulous. Last weekend when Daniel and I got the keys to start moving, it also happened to be the staff lake trip. Two sweet friends the Mullens and Pimentels offered to take two of our rascals to ease our load. Both Kason and Zoe had an absolute blast!
This was Zoe's very first sleepover and it was a hit! She loved spending the weekend with London...
Daniel, Max, and I met up with everyone for dinner Saturday night which was a nice break.
One characteristic of our new place that I'm not thrilled about is the staircase. Max mastered our last staircase and never got hurt, but this new one is much steeper. Unfortunately our little fella fell down three stairs and hurt himself pretty bad. We waited out the night to gauge if he was just bruised or if he fractured something, but ended up taking him to the ER the next day. I snuck this picture in because this is how our family rolls quite often...
just chillin' getting our cuddles on in the hospital bed :). After spending the entire day, we didn't pinpoint where he hurt himself, but will most likely be getting more X-rays taken this week since he still isn't back to full function crawling or using his gait trainer. Needless to say, between the move and Max's incident we were all looking forward to the relaxing three day weekend. This crew kicked off the weekend by going to the BCS football game...
which these two loved! BCS feels like a small town atmosphere in the middle of the city. While at the game Kason was able to see friends from school, teachers, high school/junior high kids that are helpers around his school. If you can't tell, we just adore BCS! Saturday morning after sleeping in, we checked out the farmers market downtown Austin since we live closer now...
Max appreciated and rocked out to the band that was playing :)...
While the other two munchkins were excited to try out some homemade popsicles...
 and food truck waffles!
We have seriously become spoiled to the incredible eats around Austin! After checking out a couple bike shops, we enjoyed lunch and a thumb war outdoor style at Little Deli...
before coming home to work on a few house chores with College Gameday on...followed by our first Wreck 'Em Tech game of the season!
We invited a few friends over to grill out burgers...
and cheer on our Red Raiders!
Suns Up, Guns Up around the Clayton casa! So as you can see, life lately has been fabulous...establishing new routines, settling into a new home, but still taking time to relax as a family. Bring on the fall...cooler weather, more college football, and many more memories!
