Livin' the Coastal Life...

Sunday evening we arrived at the resort where we spent the week in Newport Beach. The villas were spacious with incredible views of the ocean...
While we explored the area, our crew also spent loads of time relaxing around the gorgeous resort.
The villas were two bedrooms with a living room and kitchen, so we bought groceries and were able to cook our meals for the week which made it more relaxing. The resort also provided their guests with some fun family friendly amenities...
There was also a kid zone with outdoor games, a movie theater, video games, and toys...
Marriott also had entertainment scheduled throughout the week. These little rascals enjoyed a magic show...
and a movie under the stars...
Of course these munchkins can't get enough splash time, so we did spend some time playing around in the water...
Honestly, the weather dropped in temperature around 4:00 every afternoon so us adults would laze around the side of the pool while only the crazy kids kept on swimming :).
We all couldn't get enough of the hot tub or the sun when it was out!

I also loved how relaxing our evenings were. One night, Mimi and Doc babysat while we went out on a date...
Daniel surprised me with dinner at the legendary Duke's overlooking the ocean at Huntington Beach...
followed by a walk along the pier and a stroll along the sandy beaches. One of my favorites from the evening was watching the sunset while surfer's were catching a few waves...
Another evening Daniel's Aunt Sandra dropped in for a visit! She lives about 10 miles from where we were staying and we were extra grateful for her driving over to spend time with us.
Aunt Sandra was a huge hit among the kids as she brought them all yummy cupcakes!
The last evening of our trip was a blast...
Our crew sat around the fire making smores...yum!
Oh, these little beach bums had the most incredible week together!
A huge thank you shout out to Mimi and Doc for organizing this family vacation and for all your help with the grands! Our week was packed full of fun and an enormous amount of memories were made. These five didn't want to say goodbye to the beach or each other!
