Relay for Life...

10 years friends!!! Before the bundle of grandkids, our favorite Doc fought the hard battle and beat cancer!
Last year and this year we celebrated by participating in Relay for Life in Frisco where my sister chairs this event..insert applause here for my rockin' awesome sis! Her husband, Uncle Bryan also beat cancer four years ago!
Since we love these fellas so much, this crew loaded up and headed that way after the kids got out of school yesterday. Of course my rascals were bursting with excitement to meet up with their family, especially their cousins!
We missed opening ceremony, but we got there just in time as Doc took his first lap!
I love how Relay for Life is full of events from running/walking...
to enjoying dance performances and a DJ spinning up some beats, which was Max's favorite!
There was a bounce house, face painting...
and games to participate in like a cake walk...
and pie a doctor in the face!
There was also loads of food to fill up on throughout the night, but I think snow cones were the hit of the party for the kids...
As you can see, Shaye organized an incredible event.
One of my favorite parts of the night is the luminary ceremony. There is a slideshow honoring cancer survivors, then there is an inspirational speaker who shares their survivor story, followed by the entire group walking one lap with the lights out while being lit by these luminary bags...
It's incredibly beautiful sharing a few moments reflecting and honoring the lives of the brave men and women who fought the battle but did not survive along with walking next to our loved ones who kicked cancers butt!
This Clayton crew was so proud to walk for Doc and Uncle Bryan! We love you guys!
