Easter 2016...

Easter weekend was extra special this year because Nana and Pops were able to join us! The Clayton Crew stays home on Easters since Daniel works with a church...therefore we always get excited for family to come visit. Friday evening was absolutely incredible as Westover joined four other area churches for a Good Friday service. It was a great start off to the weekend! Each year, Daniel and I choose to celebrate all the kid Eastery fun on Saturday so that we can reserve Sunday for a more meaningful day. When everyone got up on Saturday morning, we had our annual Easter breakfast...
This year I served homemade biscuits, sausage, and gravy...yummmm! We choose not to celebrate with the Easter bunny, so there are no baskets filled to the brim...usually...haha! Well, this year there may not have been a bunny, but this momma got a little excited and treated them anyway! Rather than boiling eggs, I had confetti eggs (a yearly tradition), chalkboard eggs, and paper eggs for dying...
Kason is in love with the bible and in love with reading, so I got him a book on his reading level that shares stories from his favorite book...
Both Kason and Zoe got a Easter activity booklet to use while Mr. Luke preached on Sunday. Zoe was in need of a bible all her own since she has been using all of Kason's hand me down bibles when he moves up to the next level. Since our bibles get read a lot, these seem to wear down quickly. She was pretty excited to have her very own and take to church with her...
For Max, I found him a book with basic bible stories that are interactive...
These little bunnies were pretty pumped about their bible books...
which turned into absolutely thrilled when Dad hid the eggs for our big egg hunt!
We even scattered big eggs on the grass for Max to put inside the bucket...
which is actually one of his favorite things to do :)...somehow out of all three, he is the one who likes to clean up!
Dad was sneaky, but nothing got passed these little bunnies!
Next up was a little egg confetti time...
Followed by exploring what little treats those eggs contained...
We took a break from our Easter "Egg"stravangza to go fishing! Once everyone got back, the kids dyed their eggs...
and tried out the new chalkboard eggs which was actually their favorite!
Sunday morning I just had to take the obligatory Easter pictures with everyone all dressed up...but of course a couple of my little bunnies weren't as thrilled with the idea as I was :).
Oh, but don't they look gorgeous?!?
So in love with these three munchkins!
Thank you, thank you Nana and Pops for joining us for Easter and sharing in the blessing of loving our bunnies!
