Falling into Autumn...

As summer has come to an end and the first signs of Autumn start peaking around the corner, the Clayton Crew has settled into a good routine. School is going well for the boys, but we all look forward to the weekends since we get to spend them together. Fall is my favorite time of the year thanks to the weather cooling off, college football, pumpkins, bike racing season, the smells of fall, holidays approaching, did I say college football :)? Of course our Saturdays are full of College Game Day...
and our 'lil wrecking crew helping us cheer on the Red Raiders!
We've also enjoyed cooking and baking over the weekends...
Daniel just roasted our batch of green chilies to freeze for the next year! We even had a special treat last weekend when Aunt Shaye and Uncle Bryan came up for the UT game and dropped off Sadie and Sophie for us to play with. The kids were all wiggles and giggles waiting for them to get here...
These cousins just played, played, played together and loved every minute.
Thankfully the weather is starting to calm down so we can spend loads of time outdoors again.
The three big kids took turns riding bikes around while I got the privilege of playing with this beauty...
Her smile alone lights up a room....love her! Since we got some alone time with our nieces, Daniel and I felt an overcoming urge to influence Sadie and help her see the error of her parents ways by teaching her to get her guns up!
...and she maybe wearing Kason's Tech boots too. Plus, we may or may not have taught her a Texas cheer but changed it to Texas Tech...yes I know...sneaky, sneaky :)! It was all in good fun, but hopefully we haven't ruined our chances of babysitting again! After playtime and bath, these rascals piled up in our bed for a movie...
before a Kason-Sadie sleepover!
Shaye and Bryan ended up picking the kids up real late and heading back home, but we are beyond appreciative for them allowing us the opportunity to spend time with our favorite nieces. This weekend, we had another family fun day together with different family. We headed south to hang out and watch the game with our close family friends, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Kent who live in San Marcos. Daniel and I decided to leave early and stop in the small town of Buda to eat at a local dive Mexican restaurant where we sat outdoors and soaked up the cool weather and rain. Then we headed over to one of the kids' favorite hot spots, Cabellas.
Anytime we head south of town, this place is a must stop for us. Kason loves it for the obvious reasons, but I must confess that out of all three I think our animal-lovin' little lady might enjoy it the most.
She just lights up because it's like a free visit to the zoo for her :)!
I'm so thankful for these lazy fall weekends and the time we spend together as a family. It seems that now with the boys in school, we are all itching for our family fun day together since we are spending more time apart.
Oh, the love that fills this home and these weekends! Looking forward to falling in love more with autumn and these bundles of joy :).
