Kason turns 5!!!

Why yes, this is only 2 months behind...but better late than never, right?!? Kason turned 5 just a few days after we moved to Austin. Since we already had his big birthday party in Lubbock with friends, we had a small family party and invited the Mullins over to join in on the fun...
Kason put in the request for a brownie spiderman cake with ice cream, so I made him a double layer brownie and frosted it to his specifications :)...
After the sweet treats and candles, we went outdoors for a little superhero fun! Daniel and I gave him a pair of hulk gloves to practice his strength by smashing ice cream cones...
The kids had a blast and unfortunately I didn't have my nice camera out, so you will have to enjoy the view slightly blurry...
After testing out our strength, we moved into a spider web slinging war with silly string!
Even the adults...
and the littlest ones jumped into the action :)...
The ground was covered with web and the kids were in all sorts of giggles...
so I would call it a success! In honor of Kason learning how to ride his bike without training wheels, we gave him his first "big boy" bike...
it's still a little bit too big for him and he'll have to grow into it a bit, but he loves being a part of the official mountain bike group! The last five years with this guy right here have been amazing...
Kason has a rambunctious, "all boy" spirit while also having a compassionate, tender heart. It's an interesting mix, but one that I adore seeing on a daily basis. He brings so much life to our home and we truly never know what he is going to do next. Kason is an incredible big brother and takes his job very seriously when helping care for his brother and sister...he has already become quite the protector of them. So here's a big happy birthday to our imaginative, dressin' up lovin', sports and construction fanatic son...we love you!
