Family Fun Fridays!

Since Daniel has Fridays off here, this has become our family fun day. We usually take Saturday to do chores around the house or if Daniel needs to meet up with someone, but we have reserved Fridays for family. The Clayton Crew is a slightly sporadic group and we sure do enjoy spontaneity! Sometimes we just jump in the car and head out to explore never knowing what the day has in store for us...

like going to the Longhorn Caverns! What a treat this was to take the kids on a tour and wander around a cave...

Kason and Zoe loved it! Max was a little restless since we couldn't take his wheel chair down and had to be held the whole time, but he was a trooper and you could definitely find him smiling at points throughout the journey. Other days, we have an idea of where we are headed. One of my favorite past times is wandering around quaint towns antique shopping...and let me tell you, there is a plethora of those around Austin...so I may or may not be in heaven :). Daniel has been too sweet taking me to visit a few towns and doing some "major daddy duty" with the kids while I wander the shops. We have even stopped in on a couple of museums...

which have been surprisingly fascinating for our munchkins...

Let me just share a secret...that antique shopping with three little rascals under the age of 5 can be done without breaking anything...woohoo! Since we are a bike lovin' family, we have also had a family bike ride where Daniel pulled the littles...

 while Kason was on the tag-along behind me :)...

 We road a good 10-12 miles from our house to Brushy Creek for a picnic...

 Our clan makes every excuse possible to head outdoors, so having Brushy Creek near us is absolutely fabulous...

 it has a beautiful trail through the park to ride or stroll through. Whether we make plans, head out on a spontaneous adventure, or hit up the free activities being sponsored at the rec center across the street...

all five of us know that we are in for a good time...

 because it's not about what activity we are doing...

but the fun we share as a family :)!
