Adventures in Austin: Part One

The Clayton Crew has been in Austin for a little over a week now...and we are still in a bit of disarray :). Daniel has already started work and I have been working on getting us settled, but we did make time to squeeze in our first adventure on Friday! My mom was in town to help unpack, so the littles stayed back with her while we loaded Kason up for our first Austin day date. Once loaded in the car we headed towards south Austin to hunt for a few good finds at thrift stores and the ReStore (Habitat for Humanity's recycling home improvement store). One of my favorite hot spots was this jewel...
This gem of an antique store was fabulous and I could have easily spent hours peaking around, but having two fellas tagging along with grumbling stomachs ended up leading us to a local dive...
It was a pretty swanky place with a fun atmosphere that even catered to our little chef by bringing him pizza dough to play with while we waited for our meal...
I think one of my favorite parts of the day was watching Big K proudly walk around with these bad boys on...
he isn't concerned one bit that we are in "stinky longhorn" territory (and yes, that would be his language)! Oh friends, we are really enjoying it here in our new home. We are loving getting to know our new church family, neighborhood, and community. More updates to come as we continue to explore our new home!
