Camp Chaos: Part 2

On day two of cousins week with Miss Sadie and Aunt Shaye, we loaded up the kids and took them to the pool...
where we met up again with Joni, Addy, and Ellie...
This was a big day for me because I felt this would be a great challenge for Max since he is just now starting to like the outdoors and he isn't always crazy about bath time. I was beyond surprised to find out that Max LOVED the pool and sat in his bath chair all by himself for around 2 hours...
that's right, he rocked it! He would even dip his little nose in the pool trying to pick up a toy around him. Unfortunately my little bath lover, absolutely hated the pool unless she was being held...
Little lady isn't a big thrill seeker and I think the whole adventure scared her a bit, so she just wanted to stay nearby me the whole time. Miss Sadie loves her some splash time and you could definitely tell her swimming lessons have paid off...
she was a go getter in the water! As for the best buds, well they sure had a blast splashing around together...
They were a bit timid in the big pool and wore their life jackets, but made a fun ruckus in the baby pool together. Day three was just us family and we fulfilled one of Kason's wishes, a movie at the theater. Kason and Sadie were mesmerized by the film and could barely spare us a glance for a quick pic...
We even parked Max and Zoe in the handicap spot in the stroller. Again, wasn't sure how Max would handle everything, but he rocked it which seems to be his anthem lately...he just sucked his thumb and watched the movie. We ate at Aunt Shaye's house or picnicked most of the week, so we splurged that night and went to a local Italian dive...
where these rascals feasted on meatballs! On day four, our last day, we headed to the Dallas Arboretum to meet up with some of my girlfriends and their kids. All of us enjoyed a stroll around, finding little nooks for the kids to slide, play in tipi's, and even visited a little petting zoo...
which was one of Kason's highlights. The five of us moms then found a large tree in an open field for the kids to eat and play. The three big boys were in heaven, running around together, playing swords...
I always love catching up with my ladies: Crysty (college friend), Neena (college friend), and Jessica (her husband is Daniel's best friend).
Since we don't get to see each other real often, it was fun for us to get to know each other's kids a bit better. Max enjoyed loving on Neena for a bit...
while little lady just had fun crawling all around.
Of course Miss Sadie only sat still for a few minutes to catch a quick bite with Aunt Shaye...
before she was off trying to catch the big boys :). I loved seeing all of these munchkins play together...
and already look forward to the friends they will become because of the friendships that Daniel and I share with their parents. I also loved having the chance to spend a week with just my three rascals...
at Aunt Shaye's house! I would deem Camp Chaos a success...so much so that Kason didn't want to leave :). He was having too much fun with Sadie, so we let him stay one extra night while I headed back home with the babies.
Aunt Shaye and Uncle Bryan took both kids to Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch to see a few more animals...
then Nana and Pops picked him up for a grandparent visit for a few days. Shaye and I had a blast getting all the cousins together and are already making plans for next year. Shaye is my closest girlfriend and I look forward to seeing the friendships our children will have that stem from that...not to mention all the fun, crazy, chaos that will abound while we make memories together!

  1. Thanks for coming to visit! We had a blast getting to see you guys while the kids played. I am pretty sure Sadie misses having her cousins around because it's not quite the same playing by yourself :)
