We Survived...

the first night and first full day at home with our handsome fellas...
Last night was eventful, not due to Max's sleeping, but because there was a two hour period where the apnea monitor went off every 10-15 minutes because the leads weren't working right. We definitely got that fixed quickly this morning and haven't been bothered since...so maybe tonight will go smoother! Daniel and I kind of wondered what was in store for us this morning when Kason woke up. There were two scenarios we had played out: 1. Kason was still excited about new baby brother or 2. Kason realized that baby brother wasn't going anywhere and he has just taken up part of his attention around the household. Fortunately Kason couldn't wait to see him this morning. In fact, he was so amped all day that he didn't even take a nap...now if you know our little man real well, you know immediately that is not him at all...Kason still naps about 3 hours every afternoon. I guess he was just too excited like his mom and dad! As for Max, he is adjusting amazingly well here at the house. He spent some time today playing...
One of Max's favorites is to sit up and look around. We tried the bouncer at one point in the day and he was not crazy about it, but Kason sure was excited...
he sat next to him and wouldn't stop giving him kisses. Max napped even better today than yesterday, so I am pretty hopeful I will have him in a good schedule within a week. Due to Max being on oxygen (the concentrator is in his room), he is limited to roam only two rooms in the house: his bedroom and the living room. Therefore, I spent some time today getting everything settled in for him and created a little "Max Play Zone" in the living room...
This will allow Max to sleep in his room and play/eat with the rest of the family in the living room. This picture makes me smile because you can see some of his tails trickling over the floor and through the hall! You will also notice that we quickly switched the bouncer to a swing which he is loving much more! Even though we are exhausted due to sleep deprivation (the good kind in deed if there is such), we are still bubbling over with joy that our little cutie is home with us...
and we didn't even make one trip to the hospital, or weigh diapers, or take his temperature, or press the alarms pause button, or scrub in, or...well I guess the list could go on!
