One Proud Mama...

I am so excited to report that our little man has tested out of ECI!!! ECI is Early Childhood Intervention...they have been working with Kason since he came home from NICU. He graduated from the Nutritionist around a year old because he was growing and eating well, but has still been seeing the Occupational Therapist. Not anymore!!! Mr. Kason has caught up with all other 20 month old toddlers and is on track developmentally...yahoo! Within the category of social interactions and personality he scored around 31 months which is about a 2 1/2 year old...his Sunday school teachers could testify to that because he was caught kissing on the girls in his class this past Sunday...I believe Kason might be our little extrovert of the family! The only area he is low in that Daniel and I have to continue working on is his speech communication. He is doing amazing with comprehension, i.e. he walks to his bed and holds on to the rails for bedtime, walks to his diaper changing station, opens the curtain to the shower for a bath, goes to his booster seat, throws trash away, helps take off his clothes for changing times- all just by asking him. What he is struggling with is his expression...in that he is speaking the right amount of words, but doesn't use words to express his emotions, i.e. saying no when he doesn't want something or shaking his head no. Other than that, our little guy is on track...I say it again...yahoo! I am not sure you could find prouder parents than Daniel and I, Kason has come a long way from starting out his life as a 3 pounder in the hospital!

  2. I think back of that pic of newborn Kason with all the tubes. So many people have been praying for him. To look at him now, you would never dream he was a preemie. Congrats on that fabulous report. God is Good.
