We can stand on our own...

well just for 5-10 seconds, but hey...did I mention WE CAN STAND on our own? I have been visiting with our Occupational Therapist for awhile now about what to do with Kason constantly standing and walking on his toes because he has no balance. After much debate we both agreed that we needed to buy Kason supportive shoes not just the slipper-like Robeez that he loves, or the cute ones from Target that coordinate with his outfits which he kicks off before we even get out of the car (which he also loves because then he is shoe-less). After we got to the store, my excitement quickly turned into a jaw-dropping gasp at the ridiculous prices for toddler shoes...I was singing "Oh where, Oh where is Target" in my head...but no worries, I finally regained consciousness. We picked out a "cool" pair that would still coordinate well, but had no clue that beyond the cutesy look how functional they would be. No lie, instantly after Daniel put them on his feet, Kason stood by himself for at least 5 seconds!!!
They are like little miracle workers and well worth the price might I add. While it is funny to watch Kason try and crawl with them on, he is finally getting the hang of standing in them and cruising around the furniture. What is even better is that when he reaches on his toes, he is finally not standing completely on the tip of his toes curling them under like he used to.
Look at his balance with flat feet!!!
Like I have been saying this past year, who knew you could get so excited over little things with a kid...especially a new pair of shoes? I wonder when I will ceased to be amazed!

*Word to the wise moms out there...dish out the money for good shoes when they begin walking. I promise it is completely worth it!

  1. Thanks for the good advice!! We bought Addy a pair of those 'adorable target shoes' but we haven't had a successful outing that they stayed on!! Love his jeans by the way! TOO CUTE!
