So Daniel has a LOVE for putting his body through painful, rigorous workouts in order to train for one of his favorite things...races! You can call him crazy because I do frequently after he returns home from a 3-4 hour workout, but I must confess that I LOVE seeing him race. It is so much fun for Kason and I to wait at the finish line cheering Daddy on together!!! Well actually, I am sure everyone else is amused to see me with a one year old on my hip, a diaper bag over my shoulder, the camera bag slung across my back, and the camera strap around my neck while taking pictures in the only free hand...but it is worth it to see that smile as he crosses the rewarding line.
Last weekend, Daniel ran his first half marathon which was really hard because the weather conditions were awful! Not only was it freezing (yes ladies and gentleman, there were snow flurries that morning) but it rained like crazy the night before as well as sporadically that morning.
He has incredible perseverance because he finished with a smile...just really cold!
Since the race was in Decatur last weekend, Nana was there with us to cheer him on! Actually, Nana and Aunt Michelle were going to walk/run the race, but like any sane person they decided to enjoy the new shirt and not race because of the yucky weather.
So, I know this isn't the best picture and it wouldn't put me in the running for "Mom of the Year" with Kason's booger nose so close up...a little embarrassing, but hey it was cold and he is a kid! Anyway, there is method to my madness because I was excited to finally get a picture of all six of his teeth! Plus, that smile can lighten up any one's day even if boogers are approaching it! Now, on to race number two...today's mountain bike race. Of course, Daniel did awesome as usual! You can see that Kason was a little excited to see Daddy when he finished...
Uncle Kent (a close family friend) put on the race today so we had to show him some lovin' while we were there too!
Kason and I couldn't be more proud of Daddy...
That's my man...as my friend Jessica would say!!!
Chad & I want to know what half Daniel ran!
