Family Fun Outings...

I decided to have a little fun with Kason and Zoe when Max started school, so I pushed back our homeschool start date. There are several things on my bucket list that are hard to accomplish with our Max. So before we started school, we chose to explore Austin a little by going to Barton Springs {a local swimming favorite}...
Barton Springs is fed from underground springs and it is FREEZING!
It's located by Zilker Park and you can see downtown while swimming.
We brought snacks and had a great time together! Kason loves museums and learning new facts, so we walked through the Splash Exhibit at the entrance to Barton Springs after swimming.
We then headed over to the playground at Zilker, followed by enjoying a ride on the Zilker Zephyr!
Our last stop for this outing was lunch at a food truck park...yum!!!
The three of us also took a quick trip to Aunt Shaye's to see Sadie and Sophie!
We needed to get us a cousin fix before the busy fall schedule hit!
Of course the solar eclipse was a HUGE deal since it was rare and this momma was so busy she failed to get a glasses. So, we waited in a long line at the Buda library trying to snag a pair...
Just our luck they ran out when we were at the front. We still enjoyed ourselves with some art before we left and rushed home!
Kason and I watched videos from NASA learning all about it...
while little lady deemed it necessary to get fancy for the event, ha!
Our other family fun outing before homeschool started, was we went to the Blue Hole in Wimberly. It's a gorgeous swimming hole that has been on our bucket list!
After swimming, we had lunch on the river, walked around shops downtown, and stopped in for some well known pie!
I love that our family had some time to check off a few bucket items and that our days are now slower since we have started homeschooling. The kids have a lot of uninterrupted play time! We've been swimming...
Kason and Zoe play outside a lot...
We also go on bike rides and walks together for breaks...
I especially love how much extra time I have in the kitchen. Since we are home all day, I can cook or bake during a break or when school is over that day. I've also been having them get in the kitchen with me since they love to cook! Just last week we made homemade apple butter together...
As you can see, we are having a blast! We actually only do homeschool 4 days a week {Monday-Thursday} and then do a field trip or family fun activity on Fridays. It has surprised me how easily we have gotten into a groove and how much I love homeschooling. This is definitely going to be a super sweet, super special year exploring Austin, learning together, baking, playing, and loving on these two!
