Mental Heath Day...

A few weekends ago, Daniel was out of town for a conference so I packed up the kids and surprised them with a trip to Nana and Pop's house! I let them take a mental health day from school on Friday so we could get a jump on the weekend...
I'm not sure if you can tell they were just a little excited :)! What this crew loves about going to Nana and Pops house is it means playing outside pretty much all day...every little kids dream. Kason has always loved to get his hands dirty and dig, but for some reason he was fixated on digging the biggest hole possible this weekend...haha!
So these two hard workers went to it...
 They even recruited Nana...
and had their own little cheering section on the sidelines...
After a lot of arm work and a switch in location, Kason finally hit the jackpot for his hole. He even lined it with sticks and leaves because really, what's a hole in the yard not lined with nature...ha!
He and Nana brought over chairs and we ended up enjoying a picnic lunch on Saturday by his masterpiece. Little lady also was quirky that weekend when she asked Nana out of know where when they were having cupcakes! Nana obliged of course and these kids celebrated un-birthdays (which is a Clayton family tradition that Daniel's grandmother started)...
Then on the way home, I had a major parenting win by stopping by Buc-ees for a gas station dinner...haha!
Beef jerky and gummy bears for the win! Thank you Nana and Pops for letting us drop by on little notice. The mental health day did a world of good filling up these munchkins love buckets! ...and hopefully your yard is salvageable :)!
