Spoiling Adventures of the Clayton Crew...

Last week Daniel took a group of college students to Impact in Houston for a mission trip. I decided I didn't want to hang out around the house alone and that a fall road trip to Mimi and Doc's was just what our three kiddos needed. (Yes, I am aware that most people think I'm crazy for driving 3 kids 8 hours to Houston by myself...but hey, my little munchkins are excellent travelers!) Not only were we excited to see grandparents, but another surprise was that Aunt Shaye, Uncle Bryan, and Sadie were also going to be there for a visit. Mimi and Doc planned one super fun grandlove time! First order of fun was Mrs. Sharon (a close family friend) came over to to play...
before we went to Doc's football game he was refereeing...Mr. Jimmy (Sharon's husband) also works on the crew with Doc. We had a great time cheering the referees on...
and at half time, Kason joined Doc on the football field and hung out in the field house...
which he loved! But oh no, the spoiling didn't stop there...it only began!
Mimi and Doc treated us to Incredible Pizza, which is basically a way cooler more glorified Chuck-E-Cheese...and I'm sure by the smiles beaming, you can tell we all had a good time...
Mimi was "sentenced" to love on Zoe duty...
while she watched Doc and Aunt Shaye on play duty...
I'm fairly certain Sadie and Kason could have stayed at Incredible Pizza the entire weekend and been completely content with endless rides...well at least until the game tokens ran out :).
Next stop on the grandkid spoiling train was 7 Acre Wood which is an old fashioned family fun park...
The guys competed in a friendly game of miniature golf...
Along with meeting a few new friends...of the animal variety at the petting zoo...
Kason was extremely pumped, but also a little timid at all the animals running around...
He was adventurous on a couple of occasions to actually touch a few animals...

but quickly retreated! Sadie and Kason were all smiles as they played alongside each other at the park...
while Miss Zoe soaked up the sun and fresh air...
You may be wondering where our other favorite little man was, and no, we didn't leave him at home, we brought him with us!
He unfortunately wasn't able to join in on the out of the house fun, so he stayed at home thanks to Granny babysitting. Maxers is having to spend a lot more time in bed because of his continuous daily feeds, so Mimi and Doc spoiled him in his own way by getting him a crib to hang out in since pack-n-plays are a little crammed when you factor in tubing and toys. Mimi even opened the blinds for him so he could enjoy looking at the backyard...
Max loved hanging out with everyone around the house...
and getting to play with his family...
All four grandkids were also spoiled with some special loving by Granny, their great-grandmother...
I must say that the long drive couple with only two minor breakdowns in the car were definitely worth the road trip to Mimi and Docs! The kids loved playing while I enjoyed some adult conversation and interaction...a perfect combination of family fun! Thanks Mimi and Doc for an extra special spoiling treat!
