Daniel and I just got back from a weekend of relaxation and fun on the west coast as we hung out in the fantastic state of California!!! We flew to San Diego for Youth Specialties (a youth ministry conference) with some other ministers at church which was completely refreshing for the both of us. The speakers were fabulous, worship was uplifting, and we sure did jam out at a few concerts...oh yeah- we may have danced a little, banged our heads, and did a little moshin' with each other! While soakin' up the sunny California coastline, we also enjoyed a Cubs vs. Padres game, went shopping, read a book on the beach while Daniel surfed, and ate some delicious cuisine...even with all that fun, we still couldn't get our minds off of our favorite little dude who hung out at home with his Nana and Pops (Daniel's parents). I unfortunately forgot our camera, but hopefully I will get some pics from a friend to share with you...especially the ones of Daniel trying to be a surfer dude! Today was the first day we both were home (I flew home early for work), so we left work as early as we could to hang out with Kason. We went on a family bike ride and hung out at the park before enjoying Daniel's grilling. Kason was too cute at the park because he got really excited about some kids playing soccer that he nearly jumped out of the swing saying "ball...ball...ball"! Yet again, I was camera-less but I was able to snap a quick one when I got home when Kason decided he wanted to ride the bike like dad, not just be pulled around in his bike trailer.
Of course after playing in the sand, swinging, and sliding (head first might I add...what a thrill seeker!), we needed a bath to not only wipe off all the grunge but also enjoy a few splashes of fun!
