Hoppy Easter Everyone!

Just when you think you had an awesome weekend that won't happen again for awhile, another one rolls around and it is just as great...don't you love that feeling? This weekend Daniel's family came into town to enjoy our three day weekend together as well as celebrate Easter. The weekend was full of great conversation, amazing food, and oh-so much fun! I must confess that I LOVE having holidays at my house because not only is it my first time for hosting, but I also get to be super cheesy like the magazines!!! So on Saturday morning, Daniel and I threw an Easter brunch for the family consisting of oatmeal pancakes topped with fresh fruit (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries), whip cream, nuts, syrup along with turkey bacon...it was scrumptious. And yes I decorated just like the magazines too, but of course not as fancy or cute...but hey, I try! Then today, we hosted Easter lunch and served peach glazed ham, roasted asparagus, new potato salad, spring-berry salad, deviled eggs, and wheat rolls...did I mention we ate great this weekend? I am sure you are just dying to find out how adorable Kason looked in his Easter outfit...I won't lie...he was stinkin' cute! He received all the ladies' votes this morning and I had to agree on how adorable Kason rolled with his "Casual...Slash...Dressy Style"!

We unfortunately didn't hunt eggs...Kason is still a little young to figure that one out, but I have been giving him Easter eggs to play with for weeks now...does that count? I can't wait for next year around this time to see him go on a hunt for eggs. Although I might regret those words because he could be a little stinker and steal every one's eggs...that charming face is just a mask for the little tooter!

So, to top off the wonderful weekend...Lubbock has been having the best weather! We enjoyed a day of the AC off, in order to feel the cool breeze through the open windows. While Kason enjoys banging on the windows, he especially loved patting the mesh screen with the windows open as well as the wind on his face. I said his name this evening while he was playing and this is how he reacted...

When he saw me sitting on the floor smiling at him...I was then approached with this... what joy!
