December 2018...

December was a mix of rush and relaxation. With teaching this year, getting everything ready for Christmas was a bit crazy...but, having two weeks off with family was fabulous! We participated in a few annual favorites like the obligatory picture with Santa...
and a trip to see the lights at Mozart's...
Kason had a winter concert with school and unfortunately Daniel picked out spots that we couldn't even see him. Max ended up having a major seizure and Daniel had to rush home with him.
That's just life with Max...always unpredictable. He did ask me to nap with him that weekend and of course I jumped at the chance!
Our neighbors "elfed" each other, so the kids were pumped when the doorbell rang and little elves left us a surprise...

We also can't have Christmas without making gingerbread houses!
Kason and Zoe were so proud of their creation. When Daniel asked what we were eating for dinner while they finished up, Zoe said "We are all full on sugar dad!" Hahahaha! On the last day of school before winter break we went to Trail of Lights with the Dishmans...
We also had our annual Clayton Express! Including pajamas, hot cocoa, a special treat, and Christmas music while we looked at lights!
The kids participated in another little Christmas program that I helped put on...nothing big and fancy, but the kids love doing it.
We spent the break lazying around the house, watching movies, playing legos and play dough, and even went to the movies.
Zoe and I even snuck off for a girl's afternoon of pampering! After Christmas, we had several nice cool sunny days. We went hiking, set up the new goal Kason got for Christmas, and played outside (our happy place)...
I think Zoe's favorite part after Christmas was all the boxes she had freedom to play in! The break at the end of December was definitely needed for this family. That fall was fast and furious with all of us returning to school...so December brought us a lot of slow days for us to spend together.
