In January, we celebrated another birthday...Mr. Max who turned 7!! I made his class a white cake with homemade nutella butter cream frosting and a surprise on the inside for when they cut it open...his classmates flipped! I sent them basically a party in a box with goodies for the afternoon!
Daniel and I are unbelievably proud of this fella! He is growing by leaps and bounds each year (cognitively speaking...we are still working on his physical growth). He is really joyful...well, as long as you keep all doors closed and you are sitting down calmly next to him ;). Max has HUGE opinions right now which is awesome. He realized the power of "no" and exercises it all the time, ha! We love it because for so long we have just been guessing at what he wants and then we make a change if he fusses more, but now he is able to tell us yes or no! We look forward to seeing what the year holds for our little stinker. Our family is celebrating him later in April when Morgan's Wonderland (an amusement park for disabilities) opens back up for the season. I can't wait to see his big smile as we spend another day celebrating how much we love this guy! This was the first year that he actually understood that his birthday was special and all about him. As a family we periodically shout or sing "Happy Birthday" and he would just rock and glow knowing it was just for him!
