delay...major delay! We actually finished the letter d a bit ago, but between our hospital stay and Valentines...I'm just now getting back on track with our alphabet learning! The letter d was pretty low key. In fact, I actually had two other activities planned that we didn't get to, but I'm excited to save those activities for another time. To begin each letter, I always post a picture wall that we go over several times with words that are familiar to them since they are just beginning to learn the alphabet...
followed by discovery activities. For our kitchen concoction, we made a special drink...
which the kids absolutely loved! For pretend play, we played a special person in which all three of the kids have become well acquainted with this past year thanks to Max...
a doctor! The little rascals loved listening to each others symptoms and trying to diagnose their situation. Of course everything could be cured with Band-Aids!
One of my favorite activities is we took a field trip to a construction area. Kason loves dump trucks, so I parked our car out of the way and we spent about 20 minutes watching the dump trucks fill up their trucks with dirt and then drive to a special area to dump it. After that, the kids were treated to Chick-fil-A...
If you notice, both kids took their dump trucks with them so we could practice in the car how they filled up the dirt and dumped it out! Our last activity was creating drums...
which turned in to a jam out session...
Kason and Addy as usual had a blast discovering the letter d...stay tuned for the letter e that is happening now!
